Updated: Jul 24
Back in September 2018 after a very disturbed night's sleep due to a busy mind, I sat in bed with a big pot of coffee, and some post-it notes, and started to design a programme that I wanted to deliver online.
I wanted to deliver a programme that was designed for the people who find it hard to commit time to focus on themselves, the ones who I know benefit most when they do.
The 'brain dump'
By January 2019 the programme had been designed, the first group signed up, and showed up and THRIVE Term 1 was launched.
Since this date. THRIVE has been delivered three times a year, to over one hundred people. Since the inception of RISE and FLOURISH, it is now run once a year and centred around wellbeing topics.
In this blog, I am going to break down everything you need to know about this wellbeing course/programme.
That way, you’ll know if it’s right for you.
People who have been a participant in the programme have all taken something slightly different away which can make it harder to explain what you might get from the programme.
It is an investment. An investment of both your time and money and working on yourself is a very personal journey so it is important for you to find the right coach and the right programme for you.
I want to give you a good overview of the programme to help you determine if this is a good next step in your journey. You can, of course, talk this through with me if you prefer, and book a call here.
What is 'THRIVE'?
Thrive is a 12-week programme. It is all held online to help you to focus on yourself, and make improvements across all areas of your life.
'Thrive' focuses on developing your well-being to thrive in life.
12 topics to help you learn, reflect and challenge yourself to make changes. Tools, strategies, and frameworks are all designed to help you to 'Rise to be a better version of you'
The content and delivery are both relaxed and tailored to each group of participants with my promise to you to help you get as much out of the programme as possible.
What will the THRIVE wellbeing programme help with?
Here are the common themes shared amongst participants.
Learning tools and strategies to improve your wellbeing across all areas of life
Understand where you can make changes to improve your wellbeing
Begin to make changes in a supportive group environment
Improve confidence and self-esteem
Grown and evolve as a person
Why was THRIVE Wellbeing Course created?
My coaching and self-development journey started with a group programme. I attended a group self-development training programme and found that being with other people as part of the programme really helped me to move forward.
The programme helped me to understand myself better. This helped me to understand other people around me better, and the support of others on the programme helped me to challenge myself to make many much-needed changes.
In 2014 I became a licensed in-house trainer for the same programme. For every programme I delivered I not only saw the powerful impact of group programmes, I also learnt more about myself from them.
In 2018, I was no longer able to train in that particular programme and so I started to float the idea of designing my own programme to deliver.
It has grown and evolved since then but the ethos and aim remain unchanged:
Help people to understand themselves and be a better version of themselves.
The group workshop each week gives the group an opportunity to come together and learn and reflect. The challenge to change, and taking those steps of change needs to come from you. You will however have the support from the group, guidance from me and the accountability of the workshops each week to help check in with your progress.
What is included in the THRIVE programme?
12 Activity pdfs with an explainer video/audio for each topic
12 Live and Interactive Group Workshops
12 Workshop recordings
12 Workshop presentations
Additional resources for each topic
Access to a private WhatsApp group to communicate with the group
Access to content on the website (away from social media)
Access to my guidance and support daily.
Please visit the website for package offerings which include Coaching sessions and Phoenix Community Membership.
What do the programme modules include?
There are 12 modules in total. For each module, there is an activity sheet, an explainer video and a weekly interactive workshop. The video is bitesize. It is an introduction to the topic and an overview of your activity for the week. Workshops are held on a Wednesday evening and start at 1930hrs GMT. The main content will be for 60 minutes with 30 minutes for discussion and check-in. The workshop will be recorded and uploaded overnight so if you miss a workshop you can still have access to the content quickly.
It is recommended that you attend the workshops live, however, we know that life can sometimes have other ideas.
The THRIVE Wellbeing course modules are as follows:
Goal Setting for Wellbeing
5 Pillars of Wellbeing and Dimensions of Wellness
Relationship with Food & Drink
Sleep and Rest
The Importance of Routine
Relationship with Our Self and Others
Self-care and Self-kindness
Managing our Emotions and our Response
How much does THRIVE cost? Will the price go up?
Your investment for everything contained within the programme is £199. There is an option to pay this in 3 instalments. Packages are available and bonus offers are often included.
How does the price compare to other programmes?
Programmes can really vary in price and since more companies have created courses and programmes online, the options, and in some cases, the price, have increased.
Feedback from participants at the end of the programme is that the programme is great value for money. Some have even said it is underpriced for the value that they got!
THRIVE is often someone's first experience with self-development training or coaching. For many participants, this is their first step into this world; therefore, it may feel like a big step. I want to make this as comfortable as possible for people.
The price of the programme has been consciously set with this in mind. It is set to ensure that the programme is affordable to the majority.
The content is 'need to have' not 'nice to have' and so my intention is, therefore, to make this as accessible as possible in terms of financial investment, time investment and the logistics of travelling, dependent care, and use of online tools.
"I was stuggling and felt out of control, nothing was working and didn't know what else to do.
I was recommended to you and so booked a call to see if you could help me. We spoke and I felt an instant connection and that you really got 'me' and understood what I was going through. So for me it was a 'no brainer'.
I looked on the website and had a look at what was involved and wanted to give it a go and see what it could do for me"
~ Aleks, Participant in THRIVE 2020.
Who is this for?
The Programme is not for everyone and I only want you to sign it if it’s right for you.
This is not just about learning, it is about actively making those first steps of change.
It will not be easy at times. There will be times of reflection and for you to be really honest with yourself. There will be times when the change is uncomfortable and challenging.
What I can guarantee is that I will do all I can to ensure that you get what you need from the programme.
What I need from you to help me to achieve this is to be engaging, open, and stick with it.
For every step you take, I will be right with you to guide and support you.
THRIVE is for you IF:
You are ready to make some changes.
You are ready to engage with others on the programme and be a supportive member of the group.
You’re ready to be open and honest with yourself about what is not working.
You are ready to take ownership and responsibility for your own life.
You are ready to invest time, money and energy into making this happen.
You are ready to take some steps forward.
The possibilities of what you could learn and change on this programme excite you, (even if it also worries you a bit too!)
THRIVE is NOT for you if:
You just want to learn and not make changes.
You have a specific challenge you are facing.
You do not feel comfortable sharing any information with others.
You’re not willing to engage with others in the group.
You are not yet ready to commit and show up.
How much time should I set aside?
On average it is recommended you set aside 2 hours to focus on the activities and 90 minutes for the group call.
This may vary from week to week. Some activities invite you to sit and reflect and others are spread out over the week with a small reflection each day.
There will be some topics that you want to spend more time on and others you may skim over.
If you are someone who likes to digest and spend time on things then please set aside more time so you do not feel rushed.
Can I see behind the scenes?
You can hear from 3 former participants on the 'About Phoenix' YouTube Playlist HERE
I would love to share some video snippets with you however you can see the participants so to protect confidentiality here is a snippet from one of the intro/explainer videos. Each week the video is recorded for that particular group so will link back to earlier weeks. This is another example of how the content is tailored for the group.
Who will be delivering the training?
I write and deliver the content (You will be glad to hear that I do not sing a theme tune!) A bit about me… I have worked as a Self-development Coach full-time since 2017. Prior to that, I was a Coach and Mentor and a Self Development trainer whilst working for the police.
Since leaving the police I have continued my own journey of self-development and have trained as an NLP Master Practitioner, completed a coaching programme with a global Executive Coaching Company and am a member of 'The Association for Coaching' working for my mastery level accreditation.
I consider myself a work in progress, I will openly share areas that I continue to work on and whilst this programme is about you and your journey, I will join the openness of the group and share my experiences.
I am a parent. My son is now an adult and living his dream as a professional athlete. I have a lot of t-shirts in my wardrobe of life experience and I also have the training and professional development to guarantee that I am well-placed to support and guide you.
"The programme is great at helping us to take one step at a time and just think about it and make the small changes bit by bit.
I have recommended the programme to friends who aren't very good at being kind to themselves, or stuck in their own heads and need support".
~ Hazel Participant in THRIVE 2020
What ongoing support will I get when I sign up?
When you sign up for the course, you’ll be added to the group programme on the website. You will also be invited to join the WhatsApp group to help you keep in touch.
You will be able to ask questions and have all the information in one place on the website. If you have opted to have coaching sessions alongside the programme you will be sent links to be able to book your sessions at a time and date convenient to you.
How do you access the THRIVE course content?
Once you sign up, you will get a short email from me to confirm I have received your sign-up.
Before the programme starts there will be a set-up process to find out more about what you want to get out of the programme and to get you set up and ready to go when the programme begins.
Is there a refund policy?
There are no refunds, however, it is possible to transfer to another programme if, after talking this through, we are both in agreement that this is an appropriate option.
Is there an upsell?
The programme has been designed to be a stand-alone programme. You do not have to sign up for packages, these have been created for people who want additional or extended support.
At the end of the programme, if you want to continue the journey I can have a chat with you about what might be a good next step. There is no expectation or pressure for you to do this.
What results can I expect?
Every participant has taken something different away. You can check out a number of testimonials HERE.
Tools that can be used straight away.
Frameworks that can be used again and again.
Gaining momentum of changes.
Understand themselves better.
Improve interactions with others.
Clarity of where they are heading.
"THRIVE is for everyone. Anyone and everyone who wants to improve themselves, their quality of life.
For the price of a takeaway a month the cost is nothing for the value that I have taken away. It was 3 months of my life to improve the rest of your life".
~ Kelly, Participant in THRIVE 2019.
Can anything more be said about the programme?
This is not a 'cookie cutter' package. I pride myself in taking the time and making an effort to help people get as much as they can from the programme.
This is different for each and every participant and so I am committed to helping you get what you need in the way that you need it.
