Making Your Dreams Come True (When Wishing on a Star doesn't Work)

Updated: Jan 13, 2021

The chances are that making a wish on a star isn’t going to cut it.

Dropping a penny down a wishing well probably isn’t going to work out too well for you either.

If you want a dream to come true you are going to have to work hard for it.

Consistently

Daily actions that bring you closer to your dreams and goals.

Making your dreams come true is simply another way of saying that you are going to achieve your goals.

Your dreams

Your goals

“Dreams don’t work unless you take action. The surest way to make your dreams come true is to live them”
~ Roy T. Bennett

What is your dream? What is the goal you want to achieve?

How have you planned to make it happen?

I have spent this week looking at my own goals. What do I want to achieve and how am I going to ensure that I do all the right things, at the right time, to make them happen?

Last week I was supporting people setting their goals, asking them the same questions that I have been asking myself this week.

There are key themes. Whether the goals are personal or work-related the same format applies.

  • Set your goal

  • Break it down into smaller chunks

  • Assign each chunk to a period of time

  • Break these down into smaller tasks

  • Assign each task to a period of time

  • For each period prioritise the tasks

  • Review and recognise successes.

These are not all of the ingredients for success, however, this is a good place to start.

If you haven’t set your goals for this year it is not too late!

Don’t let it be another year that you didn’t make your goals a priority

Make this your year of success!
