Who works with Phoenix Coaching? Meet Client 'B' Held hostage by overwhelm and depression

Updated: Dec 28, 2020

Who comes to Phoenix for Coaching?

Let me introduce you to 'Client B'

'B' is a young, fit and healthy woman. She is energetic, vibrant and ambitious.

'B' wants to squeeze everything out of life. She has big dreams and aspirations which she knows are within her reach.

'B' also has depression and anxiety.

Sometimes she is able to push past the feelings of overwhelm, the feelings of being anxious.

Sometimes she is able to push past the wave of depression, fight the urge to stay hidden under the covers and is able to get through her day.

Sometimes the feelings take over. They build up and she feels like they are holding her hostage from the life she wants to live.

'B' wants to make changes to her lifestyle, habits and behaviours so that she can take more control and prevent (as much as is possible) these days where it takes over.

She also wants to work out how she can manage her anxious feelings, manage her emotional responses and feel like she is in control rather than being controlled by her feelings.

Through 1:1 personal coaching, we spent 12 weeks working together to assess her lifestyle daily routine and habits. We talked about her physical health. How she was active, how she was sleeping and taking time out and her diet.

We talked about her 'warning signs'. How she was able to identify when she was not coping as well and who helped her with identifying these signs.

We talked about her mindset. How she approached and responded to different situations. How she might be able to see things from different perspectives and manage her responses.

We also spent time identifying the things that were important to her and where these areas were not being met and how she might make some changes to help fulfil these areas.

Over the 12 weeks 'B' had the support to work through 'real-life' and be able to reflect and review what had happened between sessions as well as a space to sit and think through what was coming up in life that was creating worrying feelings.

Using 'real-life' scenarios, 'B' was able to spend time really looking inward and how she was able to manage and focus on what was in her control.

'B' already had what she needed. The coaching sessions helped her to see it, to build on it with some additional tools and strategies and build the confidence to put it into practice.

'B' now knows what works for her. She does more of the things that help her to feel energetic, vibrant, positive and confident to go after her dreams.

She also knows what is not useful to her and ensures that this stays in her past so that it no longer holds her back.
